In recent years we have seen dramatically improve hardware support in Linux, pixlr it is currently difficult to find a device, graphics card etc. not supported by the free operating system. For example, the open source drivers and owners for graphics cards are getting similar performance now (and in some cases even higher) pixlr than those specific to Windows. Note also the library named VDPAU (Video Decode and Presentation API for Unix) that allows you to assign a part of the process of decoding and post-processing of a video to the GPU features that can be used even during playback of multimedia content in Flash.
In Ubuntu and native support for hardware pixlr acceleration VDPAU is not active by default pixlr in the open source drivers, however, we can install and activate both Intel and Nvidia pixlr graphics cards and AMD, here's how. - To install and enable hardware acceleration in Intel graphics VDPAU just type: sudo apt-get install i965-va-driver sudo add-apt-repository ppa: nilarimogard / WebUpd8 pixlr sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install libvdpau- va-GL1 sudo sh -c "echo 'export VDPAU_DRIVER = va_gl' >> / etc / profile" sudo mkdir / etc / adobe sudo echo -e "EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode = 1 \ nOverrideGPUValidation = 1" | sudo tee / etc / adobe / mms .cfg and restart our distribution. - To install and enable hardware acceleration in VDPAU Nvidia graphics cards (with proprietary drivers) just type: sudo apt-get install libvdpau1 vdpau-va-driver sudo mkdir / etc / adobe sudo echo -e "EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode = 1 \ nOverrideGPUValidation = 1 "| sudo tee /etc/adobe/mms.cfg pixlr and restart the distribution. - To install and enable hardware acceleration in VDPAU AMD graphics cards (with proprietary drivers) just type: sudo apt-get install xvba-va-driver sudo add-apt-repository ppa: nilarimogard / WebUpd8 sudo apt-get update sudo apt -get install libvdpau-va-GL1 sudo sh -c "echo pixlr 'export VDPAU_DRIVER pixlr = va_gl' >> / etc / profile" sudo mkdir / etc / adobe sudo echo -e "EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode = 1 \ nOverrideGPUValidation = 1" | sudo tee / etc / adobe / mms.cfg and restart the distribution. - To install and enable hardware acceleration in VDPAU AMD graphics cards (with open source drivers) just type: sudo apt-get install mesa-vdpau-drivers sudo mkdir / etc / adobe sudo echo -e "EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode = 1 \ nOverrideGPUValidation = 1 "| sudo tee /etc/adobe/mms.cfg and restart the distribution.
