VirtualDub is an extremely efficient video capture and processing program. Applications of it are almost unlimited. You can use it to, for example, compress an MJPEG AVI file to MPEG-4 video with MP3 audio, capture video without worrying about the 2GB barrier, amr or just multiplex audio and video into a single AVI stream. A must-have piece of software for everyone! Upgrade is recommended to users of previous versions. VirtualDub is free, copylefted software, with full source code available for use in GNU GPL programs. Please notice that due to pressure from Microsoft corporation ASF support had to be removed from this version. Support is still present in version 1.3c .

This programs good for changing frame rates, rebuilding AVI indexes and removing other glitches from broken AVI files. In a perfect world it would support Microsoft, MKV and MP4 formats. Make sure you select direct stream copy (for most jobs) or youll end up with massive files.

This is must have to join captured MiniDV never had any problems and it's very easy to use and it's free and along with WinDv which is also free you have a powerful set of capturing and joining tools. Excellent
Must amr say this program is great. There is only one minor problem, the audio is out of sync when they are joined. <br/> <br/>Here is my fix. <br/>1. Run VirtualDub and select only the video. <br/>2. Run virtual dub and save only the audio. <br/>3. Open the audio in an editor, at the point where each file is "joined" delete .5 seconds, then save the file. <br/>4. Mux the file video and audio with avimux.
Well amr this is perfect for movies and YouTube. Ease of use is great! The only problem I do not like is that I cannot find a compression tool on VirtualDub. Even if you do compress an AVI. the rez becomes horrible. Since I have so many other programs to compress my vids it's not a problem but hopefully they'll be able to fix that. Otherwise an awesome product. Simplicity at it's best!
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. That's what can describe it. So many features, downloadable filters, and codec support. The frameserver ability is extreamly useful for encoding to MPEG. This is a must for any video authoring junkie.
What can I say. I have been using Virtualdub for years and the product continuously gets more useful. What a great all around tool that is really the cornerstone of multimedia encoding. I urge all of you that talk about the incredible amr contribution of Virtualdub TO DONATE TO THE AUTHOR. I throw in 10 or 20 every so often because I want the Vdub's writer to havbe enough money to keep improving amr the product, have whatever hardware he needs and to have enough left over to pay his bills and have enough more to enjoy himself. amr Nothing is more pure than "Donationware".

I have bought an AverMedia capture card to capture old VHS videos with a good SVHS PAL VCR. Trying to capture amr with Virtualdub, amr only gives me PAL M a (2 posts) Latest post: 12/27/2012 Forum room: Digital video / Video capturing from analog sources
